WHAT'S IN MILO®?
Discover the delicious, wholesome range of MILO® products that kids love.
-
MALT BARLEY
Malt barley seeds store energy in the form of complex carbohydrates, sugars and maltose. These carbohydrates help provide active kids with the nourishing energy they need. Plus, it gives MILO® its unique and delicious taste.
-
MILK POWDER
The milk powder we use in MILO® comes from fresh dairy milk—we simply remove the water to make it powder. Milk powder contains essential protein, vitamins and minerals. It also contributes to the creamy flavour and texture of MILO®.
-
SUGAR
We use cane sugar in regular MILO®, this contributes to MILO®’s unique taste and crunchy texture. There are three main types of sugar in MILO®—lactose, found naturally in milk powder; maltose, found in malt barley; and sucrose, found in cane sugar. When added to milk, MILO® is a low GI drink that gives kids energy to run, play and think.
-
COCOA
Our trade mark MILO® taste comes from cacao tree beans. These beans are fermented, roasted, shelled and ground to make cocoa that is UTZ Certified for sustainable farming. Being UTZ certified means the farmers we work with can grow better crops, generate a higher income and create better opportunities, all while saving the environment and securing the earth's natural resources.
-
Vegetable Oil
The vegetable oil in MILO® NZ Classic Taste is sustainably sourced palm oil, certified segregated and traceable by RSPO. The vegetable oil contributes to the texture and smooth mouth feel Kiwis love. We are very conscious of the issues surrounding palm oil and its production which can cause deforestation and harm to wildlife which is why we have committed that our products will not be associated with deforestation.
