Dame Valerie AdamsDame Valerie Adams is a woman of many talents, especially when it comes to throwing a shotput. She is one of New Zealand’s greatest ever athletes and has been a dominant force in women’s shotput internationally since 2006. She started her life of sport in Auckland where she was part of Counties Manukau Athletics. She found her passion for shotput at the age of 14, whilst competing at and she hasn’t looked back since.
Scott BarrettScott Barrett is a well-loved NZ rugby union player, taking the field as a lock. He was born in New Plymouth and raised on the family farm in Rahotu in a rugby mad household so sport was in his blood from the get go. He started his career at Coastal Rugby club in Taranaki when he was 5 years old! The greatest skill he learnt while playing club sport was work ethic and enjoyment.
Katrina RoreKatrina Rore is a force to be reckoned with on the netball court. As the former Captain of the NZ national team, she knows a thing or two about teamwork and achieving goals (no pun intended). Having played netball since childhood at Pohutukawa Coast Netball club, making the national team in 2008 and becoming Captain in 2017, her sporting dreams had become a reality.
